Clavicle Pin
In conjunction with a surgeon inventor, ASDM has developed a
novel and patented clavicle pin design, which is currently
undergoing further clinical trials listing on the TGA's Australian
Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG). In repairing broken
collarbones (clavicles), surgeons traditionally use a sling but a
means of stabilising the break is often important to a successful
healing process. Surgical approaches include plates and pins, which
may need to be removed once the bone has healed. This design is an
intramedullary pin, which can be installed with keyhole surgery and
does not necessarily require removal. ASDM shares the intellectual
property for the clavicle pin with the inventor and has used some
of its own patented technologies in the surgical design.
